While she studies museology and cultural heritage management, Josefina Muñoz, dedicates her freetime in creating Peyote. After a personal search, she found a new path full of ideas and this incredible brand, plentful with colors and imagination, started to find its way into the belbags world.

Jose, we know you are studing museology and cultural heritage management, how was it that Peyote was created in the middle of your studies?
They say that from broken hearts big things came out. It was after ex boyfriend left me that I could’t move on, so I decided to set off a journey to central america. I needed something new, different.
My search started on looking on a different culture, finding some peace that I could’t find in myself.
After three months I was back in my country, Argentina. I knew I didn’y heal enough but, on the other hand I notice something…from the beginnging to the end of my journey I never took off my beltbag.

So there was when you started to have the idea of having your own Brand?
Yes, well, we were three in the team at the moment. Talking, just having a girly time and making an apology of the need of the revival of the fannypacks, that was when it came THE idea: Let's make ours. It was utopial to develop the brand between the three, which then were finish being two. We started Peyote together with my friend, who later opened and then Peyote was one, my own 

It was a long term until the brand was created. Jose, to who is destinate the brand?
Peyote is for everyone, o better say for no one. Because the real universal sense of belonging is the non belonging.We don’t want to focus in a specific client or target, we don’t identify as a fashion acccessory but as an existence understanding clothing as art and expression .

Which is the main goal of creating this product?
If someone see our baltbags, it can appreciate the different mix of essences for different people. just like personalities, you know? Like for example we have the ones that are big and adventurous for those who need to have all of their things with them, the one that are quick to put and you can associate them with for those you are always moving. The goal for as is that you can find the perfect for you. 

How is peyote as a brand?
I like the identity of Peyote. First I choose the leathers, all the materials that I use are national, there is something inexplicable for more small that one is as producer that joy of choosing one's own, comparable with putting a goal when you are small and your parents are watching: Own pride, perhaps, like the pat that you give yourself but when you "are big". Then the avios, the internal fabrics, the threads, the colors, everything is a mystique and the end of the dance is a homemade product. And there's nothing like feeling at home.

If you think of Peyote, how do you imagine it?
Free . We a have super trendy and delicate patent leather beltbag, and I imagine her running around the Louvre imagining being one more in French nouvelle vague throbbing a film by Jean Luc Godard. Haha, talking seriously as a mirror of who we are , how we feel and how we move around the world

To finish, what do you feel when you see someone using a Peyote or uploading photos to social media?
It fascinates me . It is amazing to see everything one can achieve. The whole process is beautiful, All we do is done with love and a lot of effort. We, beacuse we are a team, me and my incredible team of suppliers and seamstresses. So, it means a lot.
