With plans to expand internationally, the brand is set to explore innovative design techniques that continue to reflect its unique artistic flair.
When and where did you first begin?
My journey began 20 years ago after meeting the renowned American designer Gurhan Orhan. I had the privilege of becoming his apprentice, which truly shaped my approach to jewellery design. However, Naimah itself is a relatively young brand, only 3 years old.
Where does your design inspiration come from?
Inspiration can come from anywhere—it's how I express myself. My inspiration stems from a blend of symbolism and surrealism, with a special focus on the vibrant flair of the 80s and pop art. I love to infuse each piece with playful elements that carry deeper meanings.
Describe your brand in 3 words.
Bold, playful, meaningful.
What is the most difficult aspect of running your own label?
Managing all the moving parts of a small business, from design to production and marketing, can be challenging, especially when trying to expand into new markets and maintain high standards of craftsmanship.
Which part of the creative process do you enjoy most, and least?
I enjoy the design process the most—transforming raw ideas into a physical, wearable piece is always exciting. The part I enjoy the least would be the logistical side of things, like managing inventory and dealing with production delays.
Describe your brand in 3 words.
Bold, playful, meaningful.
