We all know we should be more eco-something but when it comes to accessorising fashion this can be extremely limiting; either hippy in linen or boho in beige. The Ananda Tree’s range of scarves offer something unique for both men and women, being made from a sustainable source of bamboo, with powerful dark hues contrast alongside more feminine luscious shades.
All scarves are a very generous 200cm x 70cm (approx) in size and designed by the founder of The Ananda Tree, Kirsti Matthews.
The Ananda Tree was founded in late 2015 after Kirsti finished her Open University Degree and was looking to put the skills she had learnt into a practical yet creative endeavor. Supported by her daughter Hannela, they founded the venture on the ethos of creating something new and stylish to a market overpopulated with copy-
cats and insincere marketing ploys. Hannela has taken on all the social media marketing as well as being the ‘Face’ of The Ananda Tree and the first of our Brand Ambassadors through her own yoga business – The Yoga Berry.
Kirsti has designed all the scarves based on her own photographic endeavors: from sharks to burnt woods, florals to leather bound books, the scarves go by curious names such as Archive, Harmony, Copper Frost and are sure to delight when the luxurious satiny feel of the bamboo material is encountered for the first time. Each piece is made from sustainable bamboo material and is combined with the unique
photographic art of Kirsti. Kirsti specialises in creating forms found in the beauty of everyday, transforming them into something magical. Books, flowers, animals and clouds all become something soft against your skin. Each shawl becoming your own special accessory to make the everyday beautiful.
Ananda means bliss in Sanskrit or the condition of utter joy, which is a sublime quality of the 100% organic bamboo we have chosen for our scarves.
From opening on line in mid-February they have been adding to the range that is offer and are now excited by the yoga and athleisure wear that has been launched alongside the scarves and meditation shawls. These include a range of harem pants and bat wing tops in 100% organic bamboo and a range of leggings and tops in a mix of lycra and bamboo. The two combine to bring comfort and practicality to any work out be that yoga or pilates etc.
