We got a glimpse of behind the scenes from Leap Concept. Leap Concept stands for sophisticated knitwear design, sustainability and innovation. A minimalist assortment defines each collection, and building blocks are imbued with an artfully elegant point of difference and texturally rich approach.
When and where did you first begin?
Our brand Leap Concept was established at the end of 2021 in Spain.
Where does your inspiration come from?
Nature is the biggest inspiration in our work, design, and everything we do in life. Growing up on the coast of Spain, the smell of the morning sea waves and the sound of footsteps on the beach sand is a memory strongly engraved in our minds. That is also reflected in our collections and the aesthetics portrayed in our fashion editorials.
Describe your brand in 3 words.
Contemporary, Sustainable, Luxury comfort.
What is the most difficult aspect of running your own label?
Logistics and the supply chain is definitely the most frustrating, costly, and time-consuming aspect that requires lots of energy, knowledge, and consulting with various stakeholders. It is usually the least creative but very important part of the business, that the customer doesn't often get a chance to see. Our goal is to have our supply chain fully transparent and visible to our customers.
Which part of the creative process do you enjoy most and least?
Sourcing new materials, creating new products, and making beautiful photo editorials for our collections is definitely the creative process we enjoy the most. All other aspects are also part of our enjoyment, because every day we get to learn many new things along the way of building the brand.
Do you have a mentor?
Our friends and customers with different professions and backgrounds are our biggest mentors. We are always asking questions and open to hearing different feedback. Every opinion is important to improve ourselves in the future.
How long did your last collection take to create?
As this was our first collection for FW22 called "Leap 00", it took us around 8 months to design, develop, photograph, and produce. Now it is ready to be presented to the customers of The Clothing Lounge.
What are your future plans?
We are already working on completing the FW22 collection with a small capsule of knitted accessories and start designing the SS23 collection. We are also planning to expand our presence in the markets of northern Europe, the UK, and the USA.
Which pieces do you think everyone should have in their wardrobe?
A warm cashmere cardigan or sweater in heavyweight and soft touch is a must-have for the cold winter days. On the other side, our essential sweaters made of extra fine cashmere are perfect to be combined in different stylings for various occasions.
What attracted you to The Clothing Lounge?
The focus on contemporary and independent fashion brands, fresh and unconventional market approach and possibility for exposure to the UK customers.
